With the initiative “fam - more family more vacation”, the family moves centre stage in their vacation activities.
family holidays re-defined: fam* Hotels is an initiative to make sure everybody relaxes: children and parents
We started the fam project in autumn 2003 and considered where we could offer our families support on holiday. Holidays and vacations don’t automatically offer relaxation, occasionally stress moments can occur.
Parents as well as children venture into an unknown environment, the usual course of the day is interrupted and contacts are alien. In addition expectations for the best time of the year are extremely high.
Family experiences on vacation with kids
In vacations with kids, families want to enjoy time for collective experiences which occur all too briefly in hectic everyday life. They would like to strengthen family ties and reinforce the parents-kids‘ relationship. In the fam* children hotels, there are many opportunities for collective experiences and getting to know play pals and like-minded people.
Minimising stress moments and maximising vacation quality – family holidays for everybody
Traditional kids hotels offer a vast range of animation programmes. The fam* Hotels’ philosophy, however, focuses on the classic stress moments of young families on holiday. Lack of sleep, hectic breakfast, lack of real experiences as a family.
The main objective in the fam* family hotels is to maximise your vacation quality and to simply dissolve stress moments on a family holiday by offering things like sleep-in service, breakfast buffet for kids or the imagination workshop.
Providing events
On holiday families want to catch up on the time they miss in hectic everyday life, want the family to bond and strengthen the parents-kids relationship.
In this way, we would like our families to have deep and genuine experiences together.
The imagination workshop - making sense of nature while experiencing your senses
The child care programme is geared to children’s elementary needs. According to a survey 78% of kids mainly want mates to play with on holiday, 69% want to discover nature, some 60% want contact with animals and nearly three quarters want to romp.
The imagination workshop allows for these needs by making sense of nature while experiencing your senses. What does the forest smell like? What can I make with wild berries? How do I build a dam? Silicic, gravel, menhir – tales and games about stones, feeding animals, stroking and cleaning the stable out.
The imagination workshop is thus a distinctive counterpart to the well known kids’ programmes in kids’ clubs with doing handicraft, dawing and plaing games.

The fam* initiative – for more family and more holiday is continuously being developed. Suggestions from our guests and experiences made in the family hotels are continuously drawn on to make our range meet our guests needs better all the time and thus increase the vacation quality of our families.
